Kasey’s practice focuses on a broad range of complex real estate litigation matters, including real property litigation, as well as transactional real estate dispute matters. His real estate litigation experience includes landlord/tenant disputes, land use litigation, ad-valorem tax challenges, utilities right-of-way and easement disputes, and impact fee challenges. In addition, he has experience in representing clients in land use commission hearings across Florida, representing condemnors and condemnees in eminent domain proceedings in both state and federal courts, representing property owners in connection with environmental matters, and representing senior living facilities in FHA/ADA discrimination lawsuits.
Kasey also has experience in residential real estate matters, including the representation of landlords and property owners in leasing matters, fair housing issues, broker compliance, habitability claims, personal injury and property claims, and contract negotiations.
Kasey has served for years as the Co-Chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section and was an active member of the National Rental Housing Council.
Prior to his legal career, Kasey served on active duty with the United States Coast Guard. In his role as the Commercial Vessel Branch Chief for Sector St. Petersburg, he oversaw and coordinated the commercial shipping industry for Port Tampa Bay and the Western seaboard of Florida. As a Reserve Officer, he served as the officer overseeing cruise ship compliance for Port Cape Canaveral. He has also served as a Reserve JAG Officer in Boston overseeing navigable waterway and bridge compliance.
